Scarecrow Competition

Starting on 1st May 2022 we launched our third free to enter ‘Messingham Build a Scarecrow’ competition. Prize money was given to the nominated charities of the top three and rosettes were awarded to sixth place.

Classic Cars

Despite the continuous rain, and it being the coldest June day in 35 years, thirty classic vehicles attended. Messingham Show will partner with Lincolnshire Louth Motor Club in 2023. LLMC was found in 1900 as the Lincolnshire Automobile Club. It is the oldest motor club in the country.

Kids Zone

We appreciate that a family day out can be expensive and so in 2022 we included four face painters and a children's entertainer in the entry price. These proved to be very popular with children of all ages. Please sign up for our newsletter to have your say on family entertainment in 2023.

Messingham Show 2022

After nearly three years absence the return of Messingham Show in 2022 was met by continuous rain and being held on the coldest June day in 35 years. The cloud was so low that the Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight was cancelled.

Despite the weather many of you attended and the feedback we received was positive - thank you. However, we know that we have areas that can be changed and improved upon to meet the reasonable expectations and desires of our village and Northern Lincolnshire - our Community.

The show is funded by donations, our generous sponsors, trade stands and gate receipts. Due to the poor weather our bank balance has taken a big loss in 2022. However, our wet weather reserves along with the continued support of sponsors will allow the 2023 show to be held on Saturday 10th June. This new date is in response to our community asking for it to be moved from a Sunday and away from school half term.

We ask that you please sign up to our newsletter and watch our Facebook page as we will be seeking your views on the 2023 show. Please consider that the Show Directors and Committee Members are all unpaid volunteers and not professional event planners / managers. We will consider all views and do our best to meet them subject to the resources available to us - financial and people on the ground on show day.

We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you on Show Day in 2023.
