Build a Scarecrow – Win a Prize! We’re excited to announce the return of our much-loved Messingham Scarecrow Competition, proudly sponsored by Cade Estate Agency!

This year, we’re also marking VE Day, so if you’d like to incorporate a wartime or 1940s theme into your scarecrow, we’d love to see it—but as always, the theme is completely open. Go traditional, funny, inspired by famous faces, book characters, seasonal ideas, or something totally unique. Let your imagination run wild! Whether it be a book character, celebrity or animal, the choice is yours.

How to take part: Build your scarecrow and display it in your front garden with a sign pointing toward the showground.

Be as creative as you like – use any materials, as long as it looks like it could scare off the birds! Take a photo and submit it using the form on our website.

Take a picture on your phone and upload it to the form on the website!

All scarecrow entries will be featured in the Community Marquee on Show Day – Saturday 6th June.

Prizes to be won: 1st Prize – £75 2nd Prize – £50 3rd Prize – £25

Winners will be announced between 3pm - 3.30pm on show day at the Community Tent.
