EQUINE INFLUENZA / FLU
Messingham Horse & Foal Show Committee (MHFSC) urge all owners / riders to be vigilant for the symptoms of equine flu and to alert their Vet if they think their horse or pony is showing signs. ALL horses and ponies should be fully vaccinated within the past 12 months. Any horse or pony not complying with this vaccination advice may not be unloaded, nor any horses or ponies travelling with it, and they will not be allowed to compete at Messingham Show.

MHFSC SHOW REGULATIONS
- No horse or pony may be hacked / ridden to the show ground. Entry WILL be refused to any horse / pony and their rider.
- Compliant riding hats must be worn at all times when mounted.
- No entry fees will be refunded if the competitor withdraws.
- MHFSC reserves the right to vary the order & composition of this Schedule and to decline any entry without being required to give a reason. Class times may vary from those scheduled.
- In the event of there being insufficient starters lower prizes may be withheld.
- Show Jumping objections must be made to the Secretary within 15 minutes of completion of the class in writing and accompanied by a cash deposit of £30:00. This deposit will be forfeited if the objection is overruled.
- All persons participating in the show in any way do so at their own risk. MHFSC will not accept any legal liability whatsoever for any loss or damage to property, including the transmission of any infectious disease to any animal. MHFSC will not accept legal liability for injuries to any person, except for death or personal injury arising from the negligence of MHFSC, its servants or agents.
- MHFSC has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of all participants. All persons on the showground are expected to do the same and to comply with all instructions of Organisers, Officials and Stewards
- The showground is laid out so that competitors and members of the public are kept apart. All persons attending the show must keep within designated areas.
- No person(s) shall allow a stallion for which they are responsible as owner, lessee, authorised agent or rider to compete or be prepared to compete, in any class / competition without taking adequate precautions to ensure other competitors, show officials or members of the public are not put at risk of injury.
- Any and all trophies or silverware mentioned in this schedule shall not be taken away after award by the judge. Sashes and rosettes will be presented to winners to be kept. By entry competitors agree to be photographed.
- The onus is on every competitor / rider who suffers a fall, or anyone who suffers an injury whilst on the showground, to report the fall / injury to the on-site Paramedics AND Show Secretary.
- All riders / competitors are required to make a contribution of £2.50 to help pay for the Paramedic cover provided on the day.
- It is a condition precedent of entry to the Show that participants have read and accept these regulations.
- All horse classes to finish at 17:00hrs to allow safe exit of horses before MessFest music stage soundcheck starts at 17:15hrs.
